AFE4404: saturation of TIA output

Hi,

I am working on AFE4404. While developing calibration code, I have two questions related to saturation.

1) If a saturation of TIA output occurs anyway, even with effort to avoid it, how should the system work to recover ?

     Waiting for more than 200mS(t_channel) after changing the relevant parameters (ILED, Rf, Offset) ? Or resetting the chip ?

     Datasheet only says saturation should be avoided.

2) Actually when a saturation occurs, it seems that the output values are insane. Sometimes, it is near 0x200000 but sometimes it is 0. How can a saturation be detected ?
