Part Number:TPS560430
On page 22 of the data sheet, in paragraph #10, titled "Power Supply Recommendations", the following sentences appear: "The TPS560430 is designed to operate from an input voltage supply range between 4.0 V and 36 V. This input supply should be well regulated and able to withstand maximum input current and maintain a stable voltage." I am considering operating the TPS560430XDBVR from 3 3-Volt Lithium CR123A batteries wired in series, with the TPS560430X's output set to 3.3 Volts. I anticipate light output loading, down in the 10mA to 50mA range. The statement in the data sheet about the input needing to be well-regulated bothers me, and to my mind does not really make sense. Is the TPS560430XDBVR not considered to be a voltage regulator in and of itself? As an alternative, I am looking at the TPS62125. The only reason I have not already simply chosen to use the TPS62125 is that I prefer the SOT-23-6 to the WSON-8 package. I would appreciate expert advice from a TI engineer. Thanks for making amazing components.
