CCS/MSP430F5529: On-Chip Debugging with 'CCS Device Debugging' or 'msp430-elf-gdb'

Hi,

I'm using the MSP430F5529 LaunchPad Evaluation Kit and want to use CCS only as Text Editor and for On-Chip Debugging on Windows 10. I will use my own makefiles a want to use the msp430-elf-gcc or msp430-elf-g++ for compiling and linking.

When I create a CCS Project and choose GNU as Compiler there is no Blink example

Therefore, is it not possible to use the "CCS - Device Debugging" with msp430-elf-gcc or msp430-elf-g++ (aka GNU from Mitto System Limited)?

Alternatively, is it possible to use Eclipse with msp430-elf-gdb for On-Chip Debugging with "C/C++ Remote Application", "GDB Hardware Debugging" or "GDB OpenOCD Debugging"?
