We are currently using TDA3X with OV10640. OV10640 can output 20bit WDR image, which is currently enabled for two pass WDR mode.
With the TI auto exposure algorithm, only long and short exposure are being modified(both long and short exposure are set to same exposure time) an exposure ratio of very short exposure is configured to 256.
With our custom AE algorithm, when we configure short ratio, sometimes the saturation area increases with increase in exposure ratio instead of decreasing and sometimes there is no change in saturation region.
NumLongLines is set to 234 and exposure ratio is set to 8(numLines short is set to 29). The saturation area is smaller in this case. When we increase the the exposure ratio to 16(numLinesshort set to 14) the saturation area increases.
We repeated the same experiment by fixing numLongLines to 66, short exposure ratio to 8(numLinesShort to 8) and modifying very short exposure ratio between 8 to 256. There was no change in the scene or saturation area by varying very short exposure.
Any help on the configuration of exposure time of short exposure and very short exposure would be appreciated.
