Hi,
What does a signal like the on pin AXR15 / EPWM0TZ[0] / ECAP2_APWM2 / GP0[7] indicate?
We have just finished soldering a board with L138 processor powered by TPS65070 PMIC. The PMIC could generate all required 3.3V, 1.2V and 1.8/3.3V IO voltages correctly, and on the crystal we could detect 24MHz oscillation, which indicate that at least the chip’s crystal oscillator is working properly.
However, we also found pulse waves like as shown in the picture above on the said pin (pin A4). The wave starts even without any program been loaded, and the SPI flash which BOOTMODE[0-7] pins selects is a newly bought one without any content inside. It seems that due to some abnormality that the chip is generating wave on AXR15 / EPWM0TZ[0] / ECAP2_APWM2 / GP0[7] by itself.
At the same time, we found it impossible to get connected to the CPU with XDS560V2 emulator. It gives the following error message:
The marking on top of the processor is “OMAPL138B ZWT 22ACP9W GI 375 2I(or 21) 52T ZWT” , and it should be at least above revision 2.0 according to “6.1.2 Device Nomenclature” in SPRS586C. We have some older boards with almost the identical hardware design and used chip with the same mark, but didn’t meet these problems.
Could there be anything wrong with the processor? Or could there be other reasons?
