RTOS/IWR1443BOOST: False targets at Range-Angle plot

Part Number:IWR1443BOOST

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

I am using the DCA1000EVM and IWR1443 Boost to capture the raw data and then I use matlab to process the data.

The scenrio is that one static reflection corner (strong reflection object) is put in front of the 1443 board.  The 2Tx and 4Rx antennas are configured to be TDM.

Then I captured data for 8 frames (each frame includes 128 chirps). With the 2DFFT(Range FFT+Angle FFT), I could plot the Range-Angle plot for every 2 chiprs.

This plot is shown below. However, I have 2 questions:

1) Why there is 3 false targets at negative range? This is abnormal. Is there any way to eliminate it?

2) I only put one target in front of radar (approximately 2 meters and 0 degree). However, there are 3 peak values at the same range(approximately 2 meters) but different angles. It seems to be different targets.

I remembered when I used the TSW1400 Dev Board to capture data, this problem didn't occur! Is there any difference of data between the TSW1400 and DCA1000EVM?

If not, what can I do to solve it? I only want to detect one target:(

Thanks!

William
