We are experiencing a problem with some external crystals that stop operating after months in the field, after having passed tests at our and at customer facilities.
In most case the failure becomes permanent and the unit must be repaired; replacing the crystal or forcing the ADS1262 to operate on the internal RC by shorting CLKIN to ground solves the problem.
Is it possible to force the use of the internal RC by firmware? The problem could then be solved by a firmware upgrade.
We are using an ABRACON ABMM-7.3728MHZ-B2-T crystal (Mouser part 815-ABMM-7-B2-T) instead of the recommended crystal because of the lower height of the part.
